As per usual.. animation is something that inspires me immensely! The wonderful and amazing part about anime is that no matter what image or inspiration one decides to draw, there is a new translation depending on the artist.. that is what we are to do as well- as designers, challenge, recreate and inspire... Whilst on my most-beloved internet wanderings, i found a beautiful site, with an even more GORGEOUS artist! Brandi Milne is an artist who utilizes fantasy elements such as fables and tales in a way that is unseen before and truly beautiful! I love the influence of Art nouveau (You can see it in the Summer,Autumn,Spring,Winter images specifically)! This is truly encouraging in a time when fantasy seems unloved and somehow un-accepted! VIVA FANTASY!

This is is the epitome of my design! Funky, Fun and Vibrantly Alive!!! Since when do we have to grow 'boring' when we grow old! Why cant we grow up and grow more alive!

This is priceless... I saw it and immediately started laughing... for those of u who need a smile, i hope this brings a curve or at least a fraction of joy to your day...

After several trials and tribulations, the somewhat realistic output of my exhibition space was visible. With much help from YouTube tutorials, i found that the use of 3D max was possible and though the images are far from being samped with the title of 'saged'- I wanted to share with you the final outcome. A reworked concept, the new exhibition was one that utilized the logo in a way that formed the quartered forms. Each quarter, just like the logo had the separate functions allocated to it, with small details such as the bottles for the Boxcar Boma Hotel, the larger-than-life beads, spools of thread and needle for The Shed Boutique, the gears for the Emery Wheel Restaurant, and the Mangamoto Cafe with the trusses that 'connect' (the city) and the repetition of pattern insinuating movement. The placement of each one will be a form of advertisement and 'vandalism' where each one will be placed against a building randomly, leaning, beside and adjacent to a house or office block through the city, causing interest and confusion! When compiled, the four identities will be placed in on the roundabout near the airport, where one would first come in and experienced from all around. Enjoy!

A walk back to the beginning...

As I have been working on my design... the constant challenge presented due to the nature of the site, is to revert to the masculine and almost industrial manner of design... Which is great- don't get me wrong.. however for my design, it is not ideal. The contrast between new and old, rough and glossy, deep and shallow... CONTRAST in general is largely presented on site... and with this.. the identity of the Utopia must be contrasting to the site.. Thus the application of an earthy meadow... This has to be strong... and visually clear with the way i present the site, and i was beginning to forget that... So, for both your eyes and mine... my inspiration for the funky, fresh and alive UTOPIA!





The interpretation of this has to be brought into the interior but ALSO the exterior... I will keep u up to date- fingers crossed! xo

Winter Blues... Change that!

Hey there! Well as time comes closer to portfolio... (dum dum dum...) as well as winter.. things start to become blue... so! in the spirit of uplifting with regard to the often misrepresented phrase: Im "Blue"... Saged presents you with all things blue.. BUT not sad.. rather a happy, bursting with mood and inspiration! So enjoy a blue evening! xo

Quartered

I had presented the four identities that combined to create the identity of the Golden Quarter... Well, I have completed (as best I can before a crit... im sure you all know how it goes) the four separate identities which will stand alone when one utilizes the quarters on site...
