Stolen Individualism

I recently came across this quote online by Jim Jamusch. I found it incredibly controversial because as an individual, I believe one must strive for originality... And in this live ethically as best as one can, try the best one can for perfection and do all that one can do to show love and value for others... This quote gave me a new perspective- I would love to know what the readers think... Is individualism a reasult of 'theft' as Jim suggests...

So, in the spirit of this quote: Happy Thievery my fellow design friends ;) Hope your loot is full of inspiration!

Anime-ME!

Have you ever just laughed at a picture, just out loud and full of non-sensical, odd laughter? Well this image was one of those images that caused me to beam and laugh just because of the cuteness factor. I realize the "C" word was just used- most probably eliminating all male readers... But lets be real here, anime and animation has started to get a negative rap with the idea that anime=childish. I am so sad when I hear that because if i had the choice, an amime movie or image would be my first choice above all else- though I suppose I am slightly more "youthful" in that department ;3... I wanna challenge everyone today- myself included (with pleasure) to look at anime with a non-opinionated standard and let it become what it may be to you... There are so many different types and I think that having a little more laughs based on childish and nostalgic things like anime, isn't such a bad thing. In fact- to be transformed into the cartoon and cute world would be an experience i wouldn't pass up Ive had a taste and would love the whole 'bowl'! (Considering i used to dream in cartoon though alas no longer - but i still think in it!!!)

Weightless

Im generally extremely drawn to images, this one was no exception, i loved the edgy quality... When you feel like the world is too heavy to move in the atmosphere, when life is like running in quicksand and when your lucky clover you picked up seems to be having the opposite effect? Well this image removes all those thoughts when one analyses the light and weightlessness of the figure. I imagine how it feels to be lost in a void of floating splendor... So today, i think the aspiration to be as we are in space and water should be strived for each day- in some way or another...

Imagination, not only for the young...

Ooh, my second posting... Believe it or not, i have really been struggling to write this second blog. Where to begin? There is so much to write but of course i have had some serious bloggers-block.

This week I have been doing quite a bit of research- all of which pertains to the idea of becoming a sage- yes, I do feel one step closer... Ok, not really but hey- positive thinking. ;3

Knowledge and wisdom have become two of the major driving forces in life in today's world, as education and the appearance of being more learned than one is has become a requirement to be terms successful. Don't misunderstand me, its vital to be educated- but what is the true definition? Going to University, a degree, life experience. All.

In the midst of all this - i think often people forget the most important thing- being unique and different- using that uniqueness to be something unusual and interesting in the world, and the key element to that: I believe is imagination. I found this quote that really struck me by a man who we all consider the one of the most knowledgeable men in the history of the world. If he thinks it, maybe there is more to this topic than just some young woman's ramblings- think about it:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge..." - Albert Einstein

OH! Thank you so much to Jacqueline from Home-biba blog for the great image and the quote! <3

And it Begins...

Sage: n/adj; to be wise, discerning, prudent, judicious, experienced, and eco-friendly (its a herb, so it works :3)
****
One Question resounds in my head: "How do you start a blog?" The witty and smart remarks- surely too cliche, a quote- don't I have anything to say myself?, a fact- uh, no...
I suppose for those of you reading my perplexed dilemma or blog- I say:
"Hello!"
As this site begins to develop I hope to share insight into the journey that will be undergone as i take the baby- very ginger- steps out into my design world (also known as Btech). Hopefully, at the end of this journey, the goal of self-proclaimed "sage-hood" will be obtained through the use of external influences listed within blogs seen soon but also through life's unplanned and somehow wonderful experiences.

To those of you who choose to read this humble site- thank you, I hope to hear from you as the weeks progress- feel free to drop lines and comments by me, never will input be unwanted.

And it begins. Deep breath- here we go...
